Building Relationships

We are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and just like the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in constant relationships with one another, we too are created to be in communion with the Trinity and one another.  We are present in six different communities, not to be heroes that come in to rescue the communities members from their problems of being impacted by poverty.  We are present to build relationships with them so that they can know the love of God the father, the redeeming power of Christ’s death and resurrection, and the wisdom and discernment that the Holy Spirit brings to the life of a Christian.  This relationship is not built on one party telling the other what they are doing wrong and dictating to them what they should be doing nor is it doing for them what they can do for themselves.  It’s walking along side each other, learning each other’s story and encouraging one another as we strive to be better.  And as a disciple of Christ, that means being more Christ like.  Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
