After saying goodbye to the camp at Bronte in 1978, there was a pressing concern to provide quality camps for families to escape the heat, humidity and smog of the city.

Willow Springs Camp in Stouffville was just a short drive North of Toronto served Toronto City Mission’s family from 1981-82. The following year, TCM moved camp to Five Oaks Christian Summer Centre, near Paris, Ontario. Lastly, Camp High Adventure on Lake Muskoka near Gravenhurst provided an even farther away camp experience where the beauty of God’s creation could be enjoyed by counsellors and campers alike. During these years of summer camp transition, Toronto City Mission continued their inner city camps to children throughout the city. The mission was (and is) referred to as a decentralized agency where we go to people rather than having others come to us.
